Going for the Professional Look...?

Well I have been having some fun this morning (well deserved after having to desert Christopher's birthday party to take Marcus to the hospital - not the nicest thing in the world, poor little chap, but at least it wasn't someone else's child that fell off the bench laughing and cut their head open). I thought it would teach him to sit on the bench properly, but this morning he still sat on it cross legged, so he is now being watched like a hawk to make sure he doesn't sit like that any more...

So, to chill out for a bit after another night of not enough sleep, it was time to put some pretty stuff in my Holborn Zip :o)

Picture heavy section coming up now...

My oh so professional Holborn Zip

OK - maybe not so professional after all...

A fab selection of sticky notes, with a top opening envelope behind containing my Paperchase and Moleskine stickers
The first section is my info section, containing FF registration sheet, sizing charts etc that come as standard with the FFs, my Indodispensible Data sheet and timetables (which I have yet to fill out), along with all my planning sheets to work out what needs to go into my timetable.

Blank timetables - I really must sort these out
The next section is still my Dodo pad inserts to track my food, exercise and supplements
Thankfully the marker is in the way so the exercise column is hidden

My today marker, overhauled with washi tape and Sentimental Circus stickers
After this we have a section for recording my hours worked and one containing my MO2P diary (which I don't look at - will be re-thinking this).

Then we get to my next marker which is for my main section.

I was going to put her on the current weeks page, but she gets in the way a bit, However, she is happy wherever she is - I think she may be a Martini girl - any time, any place, any where :o)
In the main section I still have my WO2P lined diary from Sweden, but have replaced my To Do lists between each page with A5 funky paper, and have added a smaller funky sheet for writing out quotes, or nice thoughts so they can be taken out of here and put into my Happiness Binder.

My first Super Cat sheet "Once upon a time, in a land far away... Make time to DREAM!!!"

And my first non "To Do" list, to do list. As you can see I have quite a lot to try to accomplish today...

Avery re-positionable tab used as a top tab to mark the current week

Another sample combination - cats and Super Cat

Mr Comic and Chou Fleur combination
Behind this section there is my annual planner - again, not looked at in quite a while, and then a section for storing some extra paper in case it's needed.
Random spare paper
After this I have sections for my 101 in 1001 Days list, addresses, project plans (not used).

Now I know I am pretty new to the discovery of the 30mm rings and how amazing they are, but today has seen me remove a fair amount of spare paper from my filo, because with all my pretty new stuff there just isn't enough room - will FF ever do 50mm rings...? I have more pretty paper than I can shake a stick at now, and haven't opened any of the fantastic writing paper sets that I bought to use in my A5 (Alice in Wonderland anyone? I can't wait to get her in here).

So, it's looking lovely and I'm already thinking of making some changes. As those of you who have read my earlier posts may remember, my Filofax obsession has paid off really well with the organisation of my work. So well in fact that it is now very rare that I bring any work home with me, and I usually get home in time to put my boys to bed. With this in mind, do I really need to stick with the one life one filo method?

Or would I be better off leaving my A5 on my desk at work every night (I have done so on a couple of occasions already and it was pretty tough, but this bad boy adds a fair amount of weight to my rucksack) and using a personal for everything else?

I may switch to a MO2P layout with lots of pretty paper in between as I don't actually have that many meetings, and it would give me more space to use so I could put more of my funky paper in it... ooh, now there's a thought...

I would consider a pocket as well, but they're too small for my pretty paper - ha ha ha!!! So many things to consider :o)

More 30mm Rings andi Birthday Surprises

Woop woop!!! I was such a happy bunny on Wednesday - I had and unexpected delivery at my work. I'm afraid you can't see packaging or any teasing shots, but I was too excited to wait to open it.

A surprise birthday present from Splucy (or Lucy and her beloved Mr P)... I was so excited I was squeaking in the office, bouncing about on my chair and grinning like a lunatic for most of the day... look what I got!!!  :o)

Hello Kitty 10 colour pen, Maped 4 colour twin-ended pen, double ended highlighters, super cool bulldog clip thingies for everything I could need and fabulous Paperchase sticky notes - so feminine and cute (pretty much the opposite of me) and absolutely fantastic!!!
Thursday on the other hand was a pretty tough day, until I got home from work to find a delivery note from the Post in my letter box for this beauty...

A5 Holbourn Zip - fully loaded and ready to go, but still not as fat as the Malden
Again, no photos of the unveiling, I was far too busy moving all the contents from my Malden and digging out a few extra inserts to go into it...

It's going to be pretty much all pictures from here on :o)

Loving the fact that you can just stick stuff in it without thinking it may fall out - zip, zip, zip!!!

Pride of place for my new Paperchase stickers, and iPod looks very happy in his new home - he may even get used now as he will be with me instead of on a shelf...
My current favourite daily set up - WO2P with To Do list

30mm rings and black dividers from Sweden finally in use

Back pockets with lots of space
The only thing that had me concerned at first was that the pockets weren't quite as I was expecting, but I think this is the beginning of a beautiful relationship.

When I decide what sections I want to have I will decorate my dividers and take some more photos :o)

30mm Rings, a Couple of Moves and a Nice Surprise!!!

Wow, wow, wow!!!

That is all I can say. I was hoping my order from Filofax UK would arrive in time for my birthday, but as I ordered on Tuesday and my birthday was on Thursday, I knew that it would be a pretty close call.

But the FedEx lady arrived in the office on Thursday with a parcel for me - there was nothing else it could be, and I have to admit I squealed :o) But... I was supposed to wait until I got home to open my present, even though I wasn't going to be home until 9:30 as I had to work late for monthend close - what could I do? Obviously I could be a proper girl, call my DF and tell him my parcel had arrived and sound sorry for myself that I wouldn't be able to move from my violet Domino until the morning.

Ah yes, the violet Domino, what was I doing in there? Well, the red one, although utterly fabulous and a bit scratched (which isn't a bad thing) had a small problem. The top rings had a little gap so the paper kept catching a bit, which isn't the end of the world but I knew that come monthend I would find it really annoying, so I thought that as I was managing to use the A5 successfully this time, I would slip into the aqua Chameleon for a brief interlude so that she could see that it really had been my problem, not hers when I tried to go back to the A5 before. However, I now see why everyone loves 30mm rings - I am totally in love with them. I tried to put everything in the Chameleons 25mm rings and had to do half in one side then the other half on the other side to get the rings to close with any sense and just wasn't happy with it, so out came the violet Domino - it is a truly beautiful colour :o)

The red Domino - Dominoes are very faithful, if you have Dominoes as backups you can never go wrong

30mm rings!!! They are just the rings to beat all rings!!!

purple Domino - empty as less than 24 hours of use leaves no time for photos of it in use  :o)
Anyway, back to the delivery, clearly DF is not heartless and therefore I could open it and here's what I got...

So beautiful together :o)

I immediately transferred everything into the absolutely stunning, stunning, stunning Ochre Malden with it's wonderful 30mm rings. The colour is sublime, it looks old, loved and just stunning. Oh yes, have I mentioned that it is STUNNING!!!? I can now not believe that I was having such a dilemma over whether to order it or not...

Ochre Malden in all its glory

Lying flat like the dream that it is - so soft & flexible

Did I mention the 30mm rings? - awesome!!!

Along with the (stunning, I can say it again) Malden I received the compact purple Pennybridge, so I just HAD to immediately move everything from my purse into it. It is pretty huge for a purse (I have never had a proper big purse in my life) and this thing seems like a brick. Although I have to admit it was so easy to get my travel card out to show the bus driver when I was on my way home, and now I need to decide what set-up to have in there. I think it will just be a purse with a pen/pencil and a few sheets for reminders on the go as I don't intend carrying my A5 everywhere with me (eg shopping - now that would be like carrying a brick).

I seem to have a bit of a thing for purple - love, love, love the colour of this

Purse and filo all in one - excellent

Plenty of card slots and pockets

Space for coinage

WO1P with notes for now, lined paper and To Do lists behind
Final pic of the day - are you ready for the surprise?

A metal divider!!!
Bless my DF. He knows how much I love my filos and all the bits and pieces that go with that so he made me a trial divider to check if the holes are all lined up perfectly. I can change the colour just by changing the paper that it sits in front of, so I an have a different colour every day if I want to. I am soooo looking forward to having the full set...

Watch this space for the eagerly awaited City Organiser delivery (hopefully it won't arrive too soon as I would like to enjoy the Malden for a few days at least)...
